Small Scale - 40 MW
2026
ACCELERATING DEPLOYMENT
Based on the work done for the 5 MW pre-commercial floating wind turbine, Eolink is able to scale up the machine into bigger dimensions. The experience in both engineering and manufacturing of the 5 MW are sufficient to launch a 10-13 MW wind turbine. It is realistic to plan availability by 2023, as the powerful machine uses existing components from industry.
Either 4 machines of 10 MW combined with a 185 meters diameter rotor or 3 machines of 13 MW, available since 2020, with a 220 meters diameter rotor will be commissioned. Both are adapted to extreme wind conditions and fit most of the locations. This pilot farm could power a small island grid, but it could also correspond to France, the UK, Japan and others countries.
The key point to minimize implementation costs of this product, is to use an existing generator with a slight adaptation, as demonstrated in our technology section. This way, the Eolink 40 MW wind farm is easy to manufacture in existing facilities and doesn’t require expensive infrastructure investments.
In the 10 MW or even 13 MW configurations, the Eolink floating wind turbine has a 66 meters large float, compatible with conventional dry dock and easy to assemble in most of French small industrial shipyards. Across the world, it will be even easier for bigger shipyard facilities to manufacture the float.
