France-Atlantique project 5 MW
Project
The France-Atlantique project is being initiated in 2022 and aims to connect a 5 MW wind turbine to the SEM-REV test site off Le Croisic, near Saint-Nazaire in France.
The test site is managed by the Open-C Foundation and is connected to the French power grid by a 20 km offshore cable. Weather conditions are representative of the Atlantic Ocean.

The steel float measures 52 m on each side and weighs 1100 tonnes. Assembled in Brest, the wind turbine is equipped with a 5 MW turbine derived from an offshore model. Blade tip height is 140 m.
The France-Atlantique project is being carried out with the support of ADEME and the France Relance 2030 plan, in partnership with Valorem and Open-C.
