The Port of Brest and Eolink strengthen their collaboration with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding.

The Port of Brest and Eolink, a pioneer in offshore wind energy, strengthen their collaboration with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Breton Economic Forum in Saint-Malo.

September the 10th 2025

In 2022, the French government and the offshore wind industry committed to accelerating the development of floating wind energy in the medium and long term through the signing of the “Offshore Wind Pact.” The targets set by the government (18 GW of installed capacity by 2035, at least 45 GW by 2050) require increasing production capacity by 1 to 2 GW annually until 2045.

Ideally located on the Atlantic Arc, the Port of Brest and Eolink, a pioneer and specialist in floating wind energy, are now formalizing their commitment to achieving these ambitious goals and strengthening their collaboration by signing a MoU at the Breton Economic Forum.

The Port of Brest will play a key role, alongside industry experts, in structuring this new high-value industrial sector. For Eolink, promoting local anchoring, showcasing expertise, and leveraging the natural and industrial assets of the Port of Brest are essential. The signing of this MoU is a natural extension of an existing collaboration within the France Atlantique project—the first floating wind turbine to be assembled at the Port of Brest.

Through this agreement, the two companies will expand their cooperation to industrialize Eolink’s technology at the Port of Brest. The partnership will focus on adapting port infrastructure to the specific industrial needs of floating wind energy, sharing information, pooling expertise and industrial knowledge, and developing innovations related to maritime logistics and assembly operations. It will also support the development of specialized training programs for offshore wind careers and address environmental issues.

This collaborative approach demonstrates both companies’ commitment to developing the offshore wind sector in Brittany, with a view to deploying commercial wind farms by 2030, while maximizing economic and social benefits for the region.

Marc Guyot, founder and president of Eolink, stated:
“Eolink’s ambitions at the Port of Brest are strong. The signing of this MoU marks a major milestone in our development plan and confirms our long-term commitment to the region. I am confident that this strengthened partnership will accelerate Eolink’s growth and allow our innovative technology to make a decisive contribution to reducing costs in the floating wind sector—a necessary condition for large-scale deployment.”

Christophe Chabert, Chairman of the Executive Board of BrestPort, added:
“The signing of this MoU with Eolink confirms the strategic role of the Port of Brest in developing the floating wind energy sector. By providing our infrastructure and supporting the industrialization of this innovative technology, we reaffirm our commitment to the energy transition and to strengthening Brittany’s economic and industrial foundation.”
